"Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in that total; of all those acts will be written the history of our generation."

-Robert Kennedy

Welcome to my class!

If you are reading this then you or your child is enrolled in my 8th grade Social Studies class at Cactus Middle School. Please allow me to enlighten you about the topics we will be studying this year. We will be looking at our government and Constitution as well as a wide range of historical events in our nation's history starting our struggle for Independence in the American Revolution. Then we examine the atrocities of World War II, the subterfuge and drama of the Cold War, the incredible struggle for equality during The Civil Rights Movement, and the politics of the Vietnam War. We will also examine the policies or our more recent Presidents as well as some major events of their term in office.

On this site you will find several resources of use to you. I have included a link to The American Journey textbook online as well as some of my own personal documents that will be used in class. You will also find due dates for upcoming homework assignments as well as a digital copy of each assignment attached in the Assignment Calendar. This will be constantly updated as new assignments are given and should be checked regularly. Take a look around and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
