Cactus Principal Biography

  Robert Quinones, Principal

Mr. Quiñones was born and raised just northwest of Chicago, Illinois. After high school graduation, he decided to move away from the city. This decision took him to Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado where he graduated in 2005 with a degree in Exercise Physiology. After college graduation, he made the move to Casa Grande with his wife, Jessica, where they both began their teaching careers. Mr. Quiñones spent his first 7 years with the district teaching PE at several elementary schools. While teaching at McCartney Ranch, Mr. Quiñones was also a student at Northern Arizona University. In 2010, he earned his first master’s degree in education with a focus in human relations. Mr. Quiñones then began his transition into administration when he became the TOA at Palo Verde in 2012. During that year, he also expanded his family when he and his wife welcomed a daughter into their home. 2012 was busy, as he was also selected as a Rodel Aspiring Principal. This gave him the opportunity to learn from Rodel Exemplary Principals and hone his skills as an educational leader. In 2013, while working as an Assistant Principal at CGMS, he earned a second master’s degree from NAU in educational leadership. After completing one year at CGMS, Mr. Quiñones was selected to continue his career in administration as the Principal at McCartney Ranch. He spent four wonderful years as a Mustang working with numerous students, staff, parents, and community members before being named the Principal of Cactus Middle School. He is now proud to be a Coyote and ready to help lead Cactus students and staff towards a successful future. Outside of education, he is an active person who loves sports, card games, and the outdoors. If he is not rooting for his favorite sports team or athlete, he can probably be found reading, golfing, playing disc golf, working on home projects, or hiking with his wife, daughter, and dogs.
