Principal biography

Thanks to all of you for making the start of the year so successful. We have connected with so many new individuals and worked to re-establish connections with old friends. It has been so positive to see how many people are invested in the success of our Cactus Coyotes!

We also appreciate everyone that was able to join us at our Open House event last month. If you were not able to be on campus, you are encouraged to reach out to your child’s teacher to set up an appointment or to contact them via phone or email so that you can begin to establish that partnership and two-way communication that will help make your child successful in middle school.

We have a few exciting events that are happening this month at Cactus, so please mark your calendars! If you need more information about any event, please contact our school office. Our Season 1 sports (boys soccer and girls volleyball) will continue throughout the month. Grandparents of our students are invited to join us on September 13th for lunch. This month our Early Dismissal days are planned for September 12th and 26th.

In addition to these events, we will begin a transition in our Academic Lab classes. We are excited to be hosting school-wide enrichment opportunities that will be focused on high-interest topics/projects and cross-curricular academic standards. We will host various classes, with a few examples being: coding, health and nutrition, screenplay studies, news and journalism, and so much more! Our students and staff will be benefitting and interacting in ways that have not been previously seen at Cactus. The connections between staff, students, and engaging content are sure to provide even more meaning to the school day.

As most of you know, we have a few days that school will be closed in September. On September 3rd, we do not have school so that we may celebrate Labor Day. Please enjoy the long weekend! We will also host our District In-Service day on September 21st. On this day, our Coyotes will not be in class, but our staff will be on site. We are excited to participate in this essential professional growth opportunity to ensure that we are planning lessons to meet the demands of our evolving learners.

If you want to be more involved in supporting our exciting yearly educational journey, please contact our school office.
