CGUHS Students Visit Sixth Graders

Eighteen students from Casa Grande Union High School visited Cactus Middle School sixth grade students Thursday March 10, 2016.  The high school students represented eight Career and Technical Education programs, Band and JROTC.  Each year Cactus Middle School teachers organize a career day for their 300 sixth grade students at CMS, each student is allowed to attend two twenty minute presentations put on by CGUHS high school students from the eight CTE programs, Band and JROTC. Mrs. Stephanie Nilson a sixth grade language arts teacher at CMS is instrumental in organizing the annual event, in which each of the 300 sixth graders sign up for the two presentations that they would like to attend, she says that the sixth graders enjoy getting to learn about programs offered at CGHUS and that it allows them to begin planning for their high school years.  The eight CGUHS Career and Technical Education Programs that made presentations were, Agriculture, Automotive, Construction, Culinary, Early Childhood Education, Marketing Biosciences and Engineering Sciences.
